In a generation where everyone is very involved with their phones, sometimes it is important to look up and observe the world around you. As I photographed in Davis Square and New York City I realized that everyone was so involved in their own world whether it be looking at their phone, their watch or playing a scratch ticket. The subjects were so immersed in their day-to-day tasks that they did not even notice me taking a picture of them. The intention of my series Look Up is to encourage people to take a break from these tasks once and awhile, put down their phones, and notice the beautiful world and people around them that they walk by everyday. Observation of one's environment can be beneficial in that they may be exposed to great things they have never seen before and memorable experiences if they just look up.
